A New Promo Tool for Independent Bands

When Gashouse Radio was founded in 2010, our goal was, and still remains, to promote independent artists. The internet station is a vehicle for bands to get their music out to the people who are looking to hear more than just the same 5 songs on regular radio.

Brain Office, weekdays at 5pm ET, is just one of the many shows we have dedicated to independent artists. Today we launch a new segment on Brain Office called Band vs. Band.

Everyday on the show we put 2 bands head to head. We play one song from each band back-to-back at the beginning, middle, and end of each episode. We ask our listeners to vote on each song using the thumbs up/down buttons on our player page as well as on our Android and iPhone apps.

At the end of the show we tally up the votes for each song and the band with the most total votes wins. Winner stays on each day until they lose. This means that a band could potentially be promoted on our show for weeks at a time. Regardless of who wins or loses, if a song gets a strong vote count, we will add that song into regular rotation on Gashouse Radio.
