Blue Food started out as a contender on Gashouse Live’s Band vs Band, and made all the way to the Tournament of Champions. This north NJ progressive funk band has 7 extremely talented musicians that create a sound unlike anything you’re used to hearing on the radio. Some listeners in our chat room have compared the vocals to Incubus, while the music itself definitely stands out on its own. Complicated arrangements keep you interested in the songs from beginning to end, which makes for an incredible full length album.
Engines, which can be found at bluefood.com, is a must-have album. Not only is the music great but a lot of time and effort went into the physical CD itself, right down to the pop-out cover art. You’ll hear tracks from this album all week in heavy rotation, as well as at the beginning of Gashouse Live (weekdays 6-9pm ET).
Blue Food has a big show at The Legendary Dobbs this Saturday night. In addition, the band will be stopping by our studios earlier that day for some acoustic versions of the songs and a quick interview. Also playing Dobbs that night are Judah Priest and BK, Salsa Shark, The Funky T and Jason Ager.
