This week’s featured band is East of the West, and we’ve got a great show planned with them this coming Friday, May 3rd!
East of the West made their debut on Gashouse Live last month. Instantly they struck a chord with our audience, who kept asking for more and more songs. Their sound is simplistic enough, yet the songs aren’t predictable. Their catchy and poppy without being boring. And they’ve got a sense of humor about themselves, which makes you listen very closely to the lyrics. They’ve only been on our airwaves for a few weeks, but East of the West have been a great find in the Philly music scene.
I’m curious to see how their sound and sense of humor translates to the stage. This Friday East of the West will be playing Hebe Music this Friday, May 3rd. We’re doing our show, Gashouse Live, from the stage at Hebe 5-7pm ET. Russell from East of the West will be joining us, and we may have an acoustic song or 2 before their full set later that night. Hebe is BYOB and they’ve got great food. This is going to be a really good time, starting at happy hour and ending with East of the West, Suburban Sensi and Out of the Beardspace.
Check out East of the West on bandcamp. They’ve got 3 EPs available for free download, or just grab The 7 Days of 420, which is a collection of all 2012 recordings. Check them out right now, and tune in all week to hear them in heavy rotation on Gashouse Radio. We’ll also be playing a track at the beginning of every Gashouse Live (weekdays 6pm ET). Come out to Hebe on Friday May 3rd, starting at 5pm and join us!
