Another episode of Gashouse Live, and another great acoustic performance in studio tonight at 6pm ET. This time we welcome back Khalid Quesada and Tom Burnham.
Khalid Quesada is a talented songwriter from the area. He writes songs that are guaranteed to get stuck in your head, and remain there for quite a while. Go to his Reverbnation page and download a few tracks. While you are there, take a look at his upcoming schedule, as Khalid is constantly playing around the city!
Khalid and Tom are coming in to promote the show happening this weekend at Connies Ric Rac. Saturday night Gashouse Radio presents Khalid Quesada, Amber Ladd, Plastiq Passion and Fantastic Planet. Tickets are only $8 (21+ only). We are hosting which means we will have plenty of giveaways in between performances. Do not miss this show. Connies Ric Rac is a really cool venue, and it is always a good time there. This lineup will make for a really fun night.
In addition to our in-studio performance, we have new music to debut from the following:
the Astrobastards: The Astrobastards are a psychedelic punk rock band from Massachusetts. They have a new album out Called DIE NAMELESS – for free on their bandcamp. They can be defined simply as three rad dudes who like hard drinks, easy women, Ice cream and Rock N Roll.
Steve Cal’: Steve Cal’ is a blues rock guitarist, singer and songwriter from Philadelphia, PA. In 2013 he released his debut album with his band The Steve Cal’ Band, which features Sandy Eldred on bass and Melinda Gervasio on drums. The album primarily consists of original songs written by Cal’ and takes on the blues with the intensity and spirit of artist like the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, and Buddy Guy.
A Clearing: A Clearing is an alternative post-punk rock band from Philadelphia. The recently released album “The Cell” explores the structure of the solar system as a fundamental unit of life. Lyrics for this album were very scientific in nature, and applied to music of a similar style to shoegaze, the Velvet Underground, the pixies, New Order.
Mad The Martian: “Focus on the positive, stand up for yourself and hear life’s melody.”
We sought to incorporate those elements into a contemporary rock record that is catchy, arresting, beautifully harmonic and endlessly fun. We hope you like it, thanks for stopping by, have a sandwich.
Frank Palangi: NO PLAN B. Positive Driving Rock Artist. With an old school kick, Palangi fuels a feeding frenzy of contemporary rock.
The Ska-Skank Redemption: Formed in the fall of 2011, The Ska-Skank Redemption has played shows around the midwest, covering 20 different cities in the last year alone. Recently the band gained regional attention by playing at the Vans Warped Tour as well as Sonshine Festival during the summer of 2013. Backed by a newly recorded and critically acclaimed 5 song EP, “Wicked Bees,” Ska-Skank Redemption is gaining traction and turning heads with their electric show and work ethic.
Skinny Cool Kid: This is the 12th straight day that Skinny Cool Kid has been on The Radar. If this West Chester singer-songwriter can get enough votes next week, he could end up being our first retired champion of the year. Basically, this means that our listeners cannot get enough of Skinny Cool Kid. Look for an in-studio performance from SCK next month!
Krantz, Kurt and Brooke will be hosting the show tonight. And just like every Friday, we will be simulcasting on neueregelradio.com. So tune in and start your weekend off with some great music and conversations that you cannot find anywhere else. Khalid Quesada is a performance you won’t want to miss. If you feel the need to join our discussions, please do! We have a very friendly cast of characters participating in our chat room.
