Today we debut The Radar, our new segment that introduces new music to our listeners. The Radar will air every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 9am, 2pm, and pm ET.
The Radar consists of 3 rounds. During each round, we will play 5 or 6 tracks from some of the latest submissions. In each round, we will play 1 song from each artist. The listeners will listen to the song and use the thumbs up/down buttons to let us know which songs they like and do not like.
The third round will always be live on our flagship show Gashouse Live. After the third round on Gashouse Live, we will tally the votes and the band with the highest voting score will come back to The Radar the following day for more exposure. Lets take a look at today’s participants:
Skinny Cool Kid: a singer-songwriter from West Chester, PA and “No Risk” is his debut EP of 5 tracks. The album is a blend of rock, folk, and pop that provides thoughtful lyrics, gentle grooves, and white boy soul.
Emily Danger: Dark cabaret rock from Brooklyn. Orchestral, heavy, Queen-like arrangements. Pretty music about ugly things. Poetic lyrics with a dynamic, operatically trained female front woman whose voice is an instrument unto itself.
The Raygun Girls: A Hard Rock group that crosses genres with Metal, Goth and Industrial music.· The sound has been compared to Lacuna Coil, Rob Zombie, Killing Joke and Evanescence.
Bree and the Whatevers: The musical lovechild of Amy Winehouse and The Doors.
Jason Wells: An experienced guitarist who has been faithful to his craft for twenty years. Jason does not just play his guitar, but he owns the rights to the soulful music that streams from his fingers.
Paige Allbritton: I make up songs and sing them and I love it more than most things. I hope you love them as much as I do.. I’m just starting out in the Philadelphia area, so follow me for upcoming shows, details and other tid bits of awesomeness.
