This week’s featured band, The Jawn, are part of the Summer Kickoff Show at Dockside Bar on June 7th
In less than 2 years, Philadelphia’s The Jawn have made quite a name for themselves in the area. Recorded, their songs have everything you look for in a fun song; catchy hooks, melodies, and excellent musicianship. Live, The Jawn are able to make each show unique with their experimental, jam-like sets. Because the members of The Jawn are so well-versed on their instruments, seeing them live is something you just don’t want to miss.
You have a chance to see The Jawn on Saturday, June 7th at Dave & Buster’s Dockside Bar for the Summer Kickoff Festival! Gashouse Radio will be on hand, along with a dozen of the best bands in the area. This event is $10 for the entire day of music. Also, new this year, Dockside Bar is all-ages! This is a great place to see a show, an incredible lineup, and a day of music you do not want to miss.
The press has called them “experimental and jammy,” “poppy blues rock” and a mix of “funk, rock, pop and soul.” Upon joining the band at the close of 2013, drummer Anthony Rodriguez referred to them as “groovy metal.” They are all of this and more; they are The Jawn.
Tune in all week to hear The Jawn in heavy rotation. You can hear a track at the beginning of every Gashouse Live (weekdays 6pm ET).
