Dating back to 1970, Clark Park Music and Arts Festivals is one of West Philadelphia’s oldest community events. Over 40 vendors and 10 bands gather twice per year at 42nd and Chester Avenue with the primary goal of fostering a relationship between local residents, businesses, and creatives. The festival is an amalgamation of entertainment, commerce, and charity – designed to celebrate and display the talents of the community.
This year’s Clark Park musical performers include City Rain, Former Belle, Ron Gallo, Commonwealth Choir, Portland Senator, Brian Fitzy, Lovers League, Family Vacation, and On the Cooling Board. At the start of the festival, Fishtown’s Rock to the Future after-school program house band will perform a set of contemporary and classic cover songs.
City Rain Tunes (passionate, stadium-sized synth-pop)
Former Belle (introspective & melodic indie/folk musings)
Ron Gallo (one of Philly’s favorite frontmen, gone solo without his usual Toy Soliders)
Commonwealth Choir (Tri-State Indie award-winning, harmony-filled and upbeat)
Portland Senator (honest americana full of strong melodies and tight instrumentals)
Brian Fitzy (one-man in a multi-instrumentalist soul/funk extravaganza)
Lovers League (the perfect union of the folk stylings of Dani Mari and Reverend TJ McGlinchey)
Family Vacation (breezy indie pop meets surf rock)
On The Cooling Board (heavy-handed blues with a lot of noise)
Rock to the Future House Band
