This week’s featured band is the one and only Testosteroso. Some of our long time listeners know this band very well, but if you are unfamiliar, let me explain why you need to go see this band on Saturday.
When we first started our show Gashouse Live, we had a segment called Band vs Band. We would match 2 bands head to head during the show, and our listeners would vote which songs they like better. Testosteroso managed to win Band vs Band 20 straight days in a row; a record matched only by Hiding Scarlet. I’m not sure if it was the musicianship, the quality of song-writing, or the clear sense of humor that this band displays in every song. Whatever it was, Testosteroso struck a chord with our listeners.
A few years back, we took a trip up to their home town of Lancaster to see this band live and they did not disappoint. Their stage presence is as equally entertaining as their music. The crowd was filled with costumes that fed right into their performance. It was a very entertaining show to say the least, and I’m so glad they are coming toPhilly this weekend.
On Saturday, August 8th, Testosteroso wil be paying The Legendary Dobbs. Also on the bill are Morticia’s Chair (Cleveland), The Dogs of Lust, The Wans and Stellarscope. Tickets are $8 presale or $10 at the door, and this is a 21+ event.
Go to testosteroso.com and check out some of their videos. They are really well-done, and they’ll give you a good look at what this band is all about. You can pick up their album Four Fathers at all the regular online retailers, and you can hear it in heavy rotation all this week on Gashouse Radio. More importantly, get to the second floor of Dobbs this Saturday night for a great lineup, and a show you will not forget.
