Time traveling from the wondrous and acclaimed 90’s grunge wave, Baby Diaz is this week’s featured band.
Straight out of Clementon, NJ Baby Diaz has quickly become a Philadelphia favorite. The band formed in 2012 from a mutual disrespect of today’s electro-pop fad. Their main goal is to simply just play good rock n’ roll period, and that is exactly what they’ve accomplished. Reminiscent of early Foo Fighters with a dash of Pearl Jam, their songs are hardy and leave you feeling satisfied. Wholesome guitar solos by guitarist Ned Sonstien, blue grass undertones, and vocals evocative of the late Blind Melon’s Shannon Hoon- I mean, what more could you want from a band?
Intrigued? Their EP is available for download on http://www.reverbnation.com/babydiaz . And what’s even more awesome, 50% of the proceeds go to Oxfam America- a community-based organization dedicated finding long-term solutions to poverty and social injustice. Rock on, Baby Diaz, rock on.
Tune in all this week to hear Baby Diaz in heavy rotation. You can catch a track at the beginning of every Gashouse Live (weeknights 6pm ET).
