overcoming gravity

Forming in 2013 with influences ranging from The Beatles to Metallica to John Mayer, Overcoming Gravity is part of the rare/ elite group of exceptional bands that are better live than recorded. Although Overcoming Gravity may be new as a unit, front man Phil La Placa is no stranger to the music scene. His solo project has allowed him to open for bands such as Linkin Park, Chris Cornell, Sick Puppies, and All Time Low. They have become incredibly busy since the release of their first single “Her Name”. Their honest lyrics and simple set-up of vocals, guitar, bass, and drums are infective and pure. Just finishing off End of Summer Fest at Dockside Bar in Philly, Overcoming Gravity is not slowing down.

“Hey girl, I’m turning into dust again- My melancholy baby- The star of mazzy must- Push her voice inside of me- I’m overcoming gravity”–Aeroplane; Red Hot Chili Peppers
