Get on down with your bad self with this week’s featured band- St. Maurice
Straight out of Spartanburg, these South Carolinians are bringing guitar solos back in style. Modern prog-rock with a dash of metal, and heavy influences in blues, funk, reggae and hip-hop; Really, St. Maurice is a little bit of everything minus the country. Featuring two lead singers and a tight rhythm section, this four-piece delivers high energy performances reminiscent of early jam bands.
St. Maurice is currently working on a follow up album to their 2013 EP, 3120, set to be out this summer. At present there is no concrete release date, BUT don’t worry because all six tracks of 3120 is available from free streaming at soundcloud.com/stmauricemusic
Join St. Maurice, Could’ve Been Kings, E. Joseph & the Sparrows, The Outhouse, and John Hebert for Gashouse Radio’s First Friday Showcase at Connie’s Ric Rac April 3rd (www.facebook.com/events/789875117734237/). Don’t forget to tune in all this week to hear St. Maurice in heavy rotation. You can catch a track at the beginning of every Gashouse Live (weeknights 6pm ET), and if you like what you hear please share your opinion by using the thumbs up/down buttons.
