Disney is doing it again, turning one of its classic cartoons into a live-action blockbuster. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that a prequel to the beloved 1992 film Aladdin is in the works, focusing on the Genie character iconically voiced by the late Robin Williams.
Disney is all of a sudden big on live-action adaptions (recently on Gashouse Live we talked about the live-action Dumbo coming soon to theaters). I’m not a Disney fan anyway, but even the biggest fan must admit this sounds horrific. A live-action movie about genies? Can we please move on from these god damn prequals and make something with a little more imagination?! I mean, isn’t that what Disney is all about – imagination?!
