Female fronted indie folk from Bensalem; Cicada Jade is this week’s featured band.
With heavy influences including Jenny Lewis, Regina Spektor, Tegan and Sara, Mieka Pauley, and Ingrid Michaelson, Cicada Jade offers up seemingly effortless soulful vocals and haunting melodies. Guitarist Brianna Lee and keyboard player Tiffany Adams are quickly becoming a Philadelphia favorite with consistent appearances in and around the city including their own Hidden House shows at an undisclosed farmhouse. Their Tiny Desk Concert audition tape was featured by WXPN’s the Key and their first single, “I Will,” was not only featured on Gashouse Radio but also on Z88.9’s The Backstage Pass show.
Don’t miss Cicada Jade this Thursday the 9th at the Roadhouse Inn with Borrowed Equipment. Additionally, Cicada Jade are set to play Girls Rock at The Legendary Dobbs Friday July 10th with The Droogettes, Roxy Rollz, Soraia, and Cheerbleeders for Girls Rock at Dobbs.
Tune in all this week to hear Cicada Jade in heavy rotation. You can catch a track at the beginning of every Gashouse Live (Tuesday/Thursday 7pm ET).
