Alt-rock with a dash of shoegaze; this four-piece Philly band is this week’s featured.
Somewhat new to the music scene, Howlish released their debut EP Open Bones in the October of 2014. The three track collection was recorded at MilkBoy, as well as Retro City Studios, and reveals a kind of sincerity and musical honesty. Howlish is currently putting the finishing touches on their next release, Outer, which is set to be out this fall. “Black Ice,” their new single, was premiered recently on WXPN’s The Key and will be available for streaming and download on Bandcamp this Wednesday.
Howlish is set to play Boot & Saddle September 9th, as well as the 4th Annual End of Summer Music Festival Saturday September 12th at Dave & Buster’s Dockside. The bill includes Gashouse friends Yeah Son!, Terrible Friends, The Good Excuses, John Faye & Those Meddling Kids, Sweet Eureka, Dead:Stop, and much more.
Tune in all this week to hear Howlish in heavy rotation. You can also catch a track at the beginning of every Gashouse Live (Tuesday/Thursday 7pm ET).
