Thanks for your time today! So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story? Where you started and where you are now.
Thank’s for having me! I’m New England born and bred. Maine is where I call home but I was born and partially raised in Connecticut and went to high school in Massachusetts. I moved to CA 9 years ago to be an actor, got super disenchanted with acting and made the switch to music. I’d been singing and writing my whole life but I had never thought to make it a career until coming out here and realizing it was all I really wanted to do. At first it was just me writing songs for myself and playing a gig here or there. Now I’ve got a collection of fully produced songs and a bunch more waiting for their turn. I’m gigging more often than not. It’s an exciting time.
Can you tell us any plans for this year? New music? Tour? We want all the details we can get.
Yes! I’ve got a lot of new music coming out this year. My newest single, Hand to Hold, will be out on Valentines Day. And after that I’ll have 2 or 3 other singles dropping in a lead up to the release of my debut EP in May! I don’t have any full length tours planned yet because I’m still in the studio a lot these days. But I do have a few gigs on the books for the spring. And a bunch more will be happening in the summer.
Tell us. What are the first and the last records you bought, and where did you buy them? Were they CD, vinyl or digital?
The very first album I ever owned was Tragic Kingdom by No Doubt. GAH! What a good album! And I think I bought Sheryl Crow’s album at the same time, the one with “If it Makes You Happy” on it! So good! And they were definitely both CD’s! The most recent album I bought was Grace Potter’s new one. I think it was a digital copy. She’s so amazing. If you don’t know Grace Potter you should really go do yourself a favor.
Share with us something unique about yourself that most people don’t know.
I’ve horseback ridden naked before if that interests anyone!
What would you say sets you apart from others?
Oh man, I don’t know. I’m just Mark. It’s about the whole package, you know, not the individual parts. Haha!
