Today on Gashouse Live we continue our 2013 Band vs Band Tournament of Champions. We started with 20 bands and we are now down to just 7. The competition is heating up, and today is no exception. Today we have 1 band with their first appearance in the tournament against a band who have 2 wins and a lot of momentum. Lets take a look:
The Lost Will Follow: This is the bands first appearance in the Tournament of Champions because of how popular their songs have been with our listeners throughout the year. When they debuted in Band vs Band back in April they won 15 straight match-ups, beating some of our other most popular bands on the station. Since then we’ve seen these guys a bunch of times live and they are a lot of fun. Currently they are working on a follow up to their EP, and they keep themselves very busy with shows around the Philadelphia area. December 28th they’ll be at Big Shots in Westville, NJ and January 18th catch them at The Grand Fromage in Atlantic City. Visit thelostwillfollow.com for more info and updates.
Kalance Theory: Some of you may have counted Kalance Theory out of the Tournament of Champions when they had to face WaveRadio on the second day of the the tourney. Some of you may have counted them out of the Tournament of Champions when they faced The Mainestreet Band. It seems as though nothing can stop this duo. Their winning with songs from their EP I’m OK, which has been in rotation for most of 2013. Go to KalanceTheory.com and check out some of the songs. While your there you can also watch some awesome videos they’ve put together as well.
Today at 6pm ET the Tournament of Champions 1/4 finals continue! We need you to listen to both of these bands. When you hear a song, please use the thumbs up button (thumbs down votes do not count during the tournament) if you like what you hear. We will play 3 songs from each band, and at the end the band with the most votes moves on to the semi-finals.
In addition to the 2013 Band vs Band Tournament of Champions, we have our featured band of the week The Wayside Shakeup joining us in studio for an interview and acoustic performance. So tune in and join us in the chat for some awesome live entertainment!
Friends and Band vs Band retired champions The Lost Will Follow currently need a new drummer! If you are a drummer, here’s a chance to join an already established band, with a new album just about ready for release. More details:
The Lost Will Follow is looking for a new drummer. We are an established original band playing the Philadelphia circuit. We are currently finishing up our full length debut. We are currently booked up for shows up to January. We are on over 16 internet radio stations. Check us out at www.thelostwillfollow.com or at www.facebook.com/thelostwillfollow. We can also send the link to the unfinished album to learn some of the other songs not on the websites.
What we are looking for is someone who is committed to practicing about once a week and make all of our shows. We usually practice Sunday nights, but we can move that around a bit. We have 12 originals already written, 11 on the album. We have about 4 to 5 new songs not worked out yet. We play acoustic shows sometimes so someone who could do some percussion would be an added bonus. Our influences are all over the place. From Nirvana to The Police to Frank Zappa to Faith No More.
We practice at our Guitar player’s house in Mount Ephraim.

I can’t believe it’s already the 4th anniversary of this music festival! Krik Fest has been an event that we’ve been excited about since the first year.
Each year Ken, front man for Suns of Krypton, puts a ton of time and effort organizing this event. He picks great bands in the Philly area that work well together for a long day of music, food, and fun. This year is no exception.
Kirk Fest IV will be Saturday, October 12th from 3pm – 10pm at Dean Casmirri’s Colonial Inn in Hulmeville, PA. The event is held outdoors and the place has great food and drink specials. It’s only $10 at the door for all-day entertainment, and it an all ages event (under 21 must be accompanied, and kids under 12 get in for free).
Let’s not forget Beer Pong and Horseshoes as well! This is a really fun day, we will be there and we hope to see you too. Please RSVP to the Facebook event page if you can make it!
This week’s featured band, The Lost Will Follow, have a show at Shady Katie’s this Thursday
Our regular listeners are already very familiar with this week’s featured band. We met The Lost Will Follow through our Band vs Band segment on Gashouse Live earlier this year. The band destroyed the competition and became one of only a few “retired champions”.
Since then this NJ band have dominated the Top 10 Countdown, performed an acoustic set at one of our Raven Lounge shows, and have become a regular fixture in our chat room. We’ve seen them live several times, and later this week we’ll be seeing them again.
So tune in all week to hear The Lost Will Follow in heavy rotation. You can catch a song at the beginning of every Gashouse Live, and make sure you join us this Thursday at Shady Katie’s!

At the end of the month, we will still post the highest voted songs of the entire month. This way, it will make the list more of a surprise!

The Mainestreet Band are going for double digit wins today on Gashouse Live’s Band vs Band! This is a pretty big deal, considering our listeners decided 9 times in a row that they want to hear more Mainestreet Band on our show. This south jersey band has an album full of catchy, well written songs. It’s called Dime A Dozen, and its available on CDBaby. This Friday they’ll be at Bo-Jo’s Ale House in Millville, NJ and then Saturday you can catch them at The Legendary Dobbs. Check out their brand new website, themainestreetband.com for more info.
Originally from New York City, Yves Jean is the leader of an alt-rock trio based out of the Pittsburgh area. Yves has had a successful music career since 1999, and 2 great full length albums to show. In 2008 Yves released For Love and Desperation (available on iTunes), and then in 2011 the follow up Hope for the Best..But Expect Nothing (also available on iTunes). Tune in today at 6pm ET to hear 3 songs from the latter album and see if Yves Jean can grab the top spot in Band vs Band. His website, yvesjeanmusic.com, is a well-done site with all the info you need on social media links, upcoming shows, etc.
Today at 6pm ET on Gashouse Live we’ll be playing 3 songs from each band. While you listen to each track, let us know what you think by clicking the thumbs up/down buttons located next to the chat room. These votes will determine which band comes back tomorrow to face a new “challenger”. We’ve also got new music from Florence Republic, Kill Pretty, Iodine Sky, and Jets to Zurich. Gary from The Lost Will Follow will be joining us for some TitoRitas, courtesy of Tito Juice! Tune in, grab a drink, and join us in the chat room.
Every weekday at 6pm ET Gashouse Live is on air presenting new music, giving away merch, instigating discussion and promoting the independent music scene. We have a great group of listeners as well as recurring guests.
Starting Wednesday, May 8th we will be bringing our show to The Raven Lounge! We’re going to start with the 2nd Wednesday of every month. As the show continues to build, we will make this a weekly event. And just like the daily radio show, this will be live on Gashouse Radio and we want as much participation as possible!
We always have a ton of merch from various bands to giveaway to our live studio audience, so we encourage you to come out. There will be drink specials and some very unique live entertainment. And the show is early enough that it will make the perfect after-work happy hour. We’ve got acoustic performances from E. Joseph and the Phantom Heart, The Lost Will Follow and The Mainestreet Band.
This is a call to all musicians in the area. We’d like to make these events a great networking events for bands and musicians. We’ve done a few of these at Hebe Music in Mt Holly already (1 Friday a month, and the next is 5/3) and they’ve been a great opportunity for bands to trade shows.
So come out and see what this is all about! We’ve got a few interviews, acoustic performances, drink specials and giveaways lined up for the first one, and they’re only going to get bigger and bigger.
The Raven Lounge1718 Sansom St Philadelphia, PA 19103 Wednesday, May 8th 6-9pm ET $5 cover

We’ll be broadcasting live from 6-9pm ET with performances, giveaways, drink specials, free food and a ton of guests. Then at 9:30pm, E Joseph will have a full acoustic set for our studio audience. Here’s a little more about the three featured bands:
E. Joseph & the Phantom Heart

Be sure to check out Burn All the Documents, available on Amazon. Come see a full set from these guys Wednesday 5/8 at The Raven Lounge.
The Mainestreet Band
The Mainestreet Band is a newer addition to Gashouse Radio, and a very good one at that. We met these guys in our Band vs Band segment of Gashouse Live, and you’ll be hearing much more from them on the station. This past weekend they packed a bus full of people and rocked out at the Legendary Dobbs. They’ll be playing a few acoustic songs at our show at The Raven Lounge this Wednesday. Check out Mainestreet Band on facebook, and pick up their new album Dime A Dozen.
The Lost Will Follow
You must be familiar with these guys if you’ve listened to Gashouse in the past few weeks. The Lost Will Follow dominated our Band vs Band segment of Gashouse Live for the entire month of April. Their song Olympic Torch was in the #1 spot of The Top 10 Countdown (everyday at 5pm ET) for most of the month, and their song I Can’t Believe is in the countdown this month as well. In addition to joining us for a few acoustic songs on Wednesday at Raven, The Lost Will Follow are also playing Hebe Music on Saturday, May 11th. Check out thelostwillfollow.com for more info.
