Amber Ladd, Blue Matches

Since everyone in the Philadelphia area will be home tonight at 6pm ET due to the snow, why not check out some brand new music in our Band vs Band Tournament of Champions?! For the month of December we are matching up the 20 greatest bands of the year in a single-elimination bracket. We are looking for the listeners favorite artist of 2013.

Amber Ladd: Amber was our first retired champion of the year, meaning she has won 15 straight Band vs Band match ups back in February. Her electronic style is very unique to the station, which seems to be working as a very strong advantage. On December 2nd, she released her third full-length album eleKtro, and to celebrate we’ve put together a great Album Release Party at The Legendary Dobbs this Saturday, 12/14. Go to to check out the new album, and follow her on Facebook for updates.

Blue Matches: This Nashville band is already 1 win deep into the Band vs Band tournament. Their unique brand of punk can best be sampled on the new album Starting Over, which was officially released today. Go to CDBaby to pick up the new album, and check out this review in The Deli Magazine. Blue Matches have their album release party this Friday, 12/13, at The Rutledge in Nashville, TN. Go to for more information.

Tune in to the Band vs Band Tournament of Champions today at 6pm ET! We will play 3 songs from both artists and we need you to use the thumbs up button (thumbs down votes do not count in the band tournament) to let us know which songs you like. These votes will determine which moves on to the 1/4 finals to face The Good Excuses on December 17th.
