Tonight we actually have 2 bands joining us in studio, Chris Valkyria and Hero Jr, plus we have some great new music to debut. If that weren’t enough, the roast of Gashouse Live is happening later!
Chris Valkyria is a singer/songwriter in the Philadelphia area. She released her solo EP not too long before forming Valkyrians. Along with Lou Paglione, Mark Harris, and Joe Dessereau, Valkyrians released their first full length album Scent of Breathlessness in November of 2013. The album is in regular rotation on Gashouse Radio and is also available on all major online retailers. Don’t miss the interview and performance of Valkyrians tonight on Gashouse Live!
Hero Jr. are a an extremely busy Indianapolis 4-piece that play about 200 shows per year. They are currently on tour and playing Connie’s Ric Rac tonight. So tonight at 6:30pm they will be stopping by the studio to introduce the band to our audience, and we may even get an acoustic song or 2. If you are in the Philadelphia area tonight, head out to Connie’s Ric Rac!
And of course we’ve got new music to introduce. Here’s a look at tonight’s music debuting as part of our segment The Radar:
The One2’s: The One2’s are a new alt-rock band out of Philadelphia. We’ve had their first single Wide Awake in rotation for a few months, and it hasbeen one of my favorite tracks to come across the station recently. Now we have 3 more tracks from the band. Tune in tonight to hear the,and go see the band this Friday, 2/28 at North Star Bar.
Working class villains: A rock band in Philadelphia with a bluesy twist to their sound, Working Class Villains started back in the summer of 2011 and they continue to build a name for themselves around Philadelphia. They’ve got a big show coming up at The M Room on March 15th with Joe Robinson, Modern Colour and Riley Road. This is gong to be a big show, and we have a pair of tickets to giveaway as well so stay tuned for a chance to win.
Some Kind Of Jazz Piano: Lo-fi and low key for the first few months of their existence, the band got a major overhaul with the inclusion of drummer, and old musical chum, Dale. Since then? An intense practice schedule, a slew of live recordings, a bunch of shows at Studio 52 located in historic downtown Lancaster, and more than enough tunes to hit the studio (or Nate’s basement?) with. There ain’t no slack in their act, and they’re ready to take this thing as far as they can take it….Oh, and they don’t play jazz. But they do play some kind of rock music.
Ten Minute Detour: This Calgary band debuted on yesterday’s edition of The Radar. They were the highest voted band, and so we are bringing them back today. In fact, they received so many positive votes, they instantly shot to #1 on our Top 10 Countdown (airs everyday at 5am and 5pm ET). Tune in to see if they can go 3 in a row, and pick up their EP on Bandcamp at a name your price basis.
Plus, after Gashouse Live, 420watch and Stoner Jesus will be roasting us! This should be very interesting, and something you do not want to miss. So tune in to Gashouse Live at 6pm ET, and stay with us all night long. We have new music, live performances, and entertainment you will not find anywhere else!
