new music this week

Every week on Gashouse Radio we present some of the latest submissions. These are brand new bands to the station, and we’d like to know what you think of each of them. Simply tune in to The Radar every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. We play a round at 9am ET, 2pm and during our show Gashouse Live at 6pm.

When you hear a song you like (and that goes for anytime day/night on Gashouse) share your opinion using the thumbs up/down buttons. They are located on the left hand side under the album artwork. They’re also located above the chat room, and on the Gashouse Radio Android/iPhone apps. These votes determine how often the songs are played in rotation after their week on The Radar. Enough votes could also earn them a spot in our Top 10 Countdown (which airs everyday at 5am and 5pm ET).

Here are the bands providing new music this week on The Radar:

Today the Moon, Tomorrow the Sun: A band of four: two girls, two boys. Noisy, dancy, loud, sincere, sweaty, loveable, hardworking.

Tim Wheatley & Crooked Saint: Since establishing ‘Crooked Saint’, Australian singer/songwriter Tim Wheatley has been hard at it. The last two years have seen him release two independent ‘Alt/Country’ EP’s and two singles, all to critical acclaim, amidst touring the country three times over. In which time ‘Tim Wheatley & Crooked Saint’ has managed to straddle both independent and mainstream radio within Australia with the help of ARIA award winning producer, Paul Mckercher.

Monks of MellonwahThe Monks of Mellonwah are a band from Sydney, Australia whose music displays a masterful and unique blend of intense space, driving riffs and sharp metaphors. Check them out at the Chameleon Club in Lancaster, PA this Friday, June 20th.

Linda Draper: While growing up in a musical household with parents and siblings who are all musicians (father Frederick is a classical guitar virtuoso who studied with Andres Segovia), Brooklyn based lyric slinger/folk-singer Linda Draper listened to everything from Bach to “Bop” from an early age, soon moving on to the church choir and then to writing her own songs on the guitar as a teenager.
