The Gashouse Radio showcase is every first Friday at Connie’s Ric Rac
Every first Friday of the month, we put together a show at Connie’s Ric Rac. We start the night off at 6pm with Gashouse Live. We broadcast live fro Connie’s and we include 2 or 3 acoustic performances, live from Connie’s on air. This month we have:
Linda Draper: For almost 15 years Linda Draper has been carving out her own place in the independent music scene. This NY based singer/songwriter has gotten back to basics with her 7th album, Edgewise, which was released in 2013 and has been met with praise and accolades from both music critics and fans alike.
John Cook: John has been playing music forever, and he is a very well known musician in the area. He’s been a part of our open jams, and we’ve seen his set at a few places in both NJ and Philly. We are excited to finally have him live on air!
Problem Solving: Normally a five piece rock n roll band in the Philadelphia area, Problem Solving has put together an acoustic set of their music for our on-air audience. We have yet to see this band in a live atmosphere, but very happy to get them on this lineup. Visit their Bandcamp page to hear what the band normally sounds like at full volume.
After the live broadcast, we present a few of the best bands that are played on Gashouse Radio. This month we welcome:
Those People: A very recent addition to Gashouse Radio, their single Black Swan has quickly become a favorite in rotation. Check out thosepeoplemusic.com for more info on the band, and look for a 6-song EP to be hitting Gashouse very soon.
Overcoming Gravity: This is a very busy Philadelphia band. Overcoming Gravity just played the End of Summer Fest at Dockside Bar. This weekend they’ll be at Dewey Beach usic Conference. Next week they’re a part of our First Annual Yards Fest and then the following week they’re headlining this showcase! They’re an awesome band and one that you need to see live, so don’t miss this headlining set. Go to overcominggravitymusic.com for more info and look for a brand new album from them in the very near future.
The show is only $5! The Gashouse Radio showcases at Connie’s Ric Rac always prove to be a good time. Get there early for the live broadcast and the happy hour. Stay through the night to hear some of the best bands in the area!
