Stimulated by a strong commitment to meditation and lucid dreaming, this week’s featured band is Flux Capacitor.
Emerging out from the hills of Pennsylvania, neo-psychedelic Flux Capacitor first landed on the map with their debut album They Know We Know back in 2009. Although their musical influences range from Hendrix and Bob Marley to Tool and Radiohead, front man Pete Specht’s childhood night terrors lay down the groundwork for each songs’ mood and lyrics. Now seen as astral travel, Pete believes those very experiences fashioned a fierce bond between him, his brothers, and music in general. Flux Capacitor’s bond is apparent within the intense ability to create passion driven epics echoing elements of rock, improvisation, and electronic. In addition to winning the 2013 TriState Indie awards for Jam Band of the Year, their consistency to inspire audiences has ultimately led them to work with Grammy award winning producers Jack Endino (Nirvana) and David Ivory (The roots).
Flux Capacitor is currently on the “Loaf of Dread” tour showcasing their core principles of music, joy, and consciousness. If you’re interested in a killer performance, check out Connie’s Ric Rac Saturday November 29th. Get a head start by downloading all three of their albums available on iTunes, http://fluxcapacitor.bandcamp.com, and http://www.cdbaby.com/Artist/FluxCapacitor3.
