“If Buddy Holly and Chuck Barry joined Black Sabbath and Band of Gypsys;”
I couldn’t have said it better myself. This week’s featured band is Sweet Eureka.
However new as a unit to the Philadelphia music scene, this three-piece band is no less than inexperienced. Formally known for his previous Blues Rock and Psychedelic project Victor Victor Band, frontman Jamie Victor united with Metal drummer Ari Miller of Surgeon and Cowgirls From Hell’s Patrick Polli; Together, they create a type of Power Pop Blues Rock that is undeniably mouth-watering.
Currently, Sweet Eureka is recording their debut album at their ranch in Pennsylvania. With influences including Fugazi, The Cure, DJ Shadow, A Perfect Circle, and the White Stripes who knows what could happen.
Now, let’s talk about Bar Wars Episode V. It is true that Sweet Eureka has been known for their live performances, and on Saturday March 21st you get to see them for free. That’s right, Bull Shooters Saloon is hosting a FREE show with FREE entry and FREE parking. Six bands (East of the West, Zymotic Flow, Waveradio, Dr. Beardface and the Spaceman, and Joey DiTullio), cheap alcohol, and a party bus from Cherry Hill just in case you don’t want to drive. There’s not much more I can say to make that sound more appealing. But, if you need more info check out www.facebook.com/events/748816318542567/
Tune in all this week to hear sweet Sweet Eureka in heavy rotation. Catch a track at the beginning of every Gashouse Live (weeknights 6pm ET), and if you like what you hear please share your opinion by using the thumbs up/down buttons. Click on sweeteureka.bandcamp.com/ for some free streaming.
