Swift Creek – Magnolia
Swift Creek is trying to bring back the root grass of American music. Their songs has a hint of country music minus the rowdy tempo of song. If you’re an old song, you have definitely longed for this kind of music where you can actually hear various kind of instruments from percussion to strings.
Wake me up to drive
A feel good song, one of those that you would surely like to tune into while getting on a long drive (yes, like the title of the song). You can easily get linked with the song as it is very simple to relate to. I rate this song 9 out of 10.
Has a hint of sadness to this song. It is more of a hopeful song of trying to do things right even with broken promises and hopes. The sound of violin in this song is very relaxing and catchy. It gives you that eased out feeling while listening to it. The lyrics is not verbatim and was written pretty well. I rate this song 8 out of 10.
Quite a playful song, which can surely make to stand up and sway for a bit. The rhythm is somewhat the same with other songs, but still good. I give it a 7 out of 10.
Ann’s voice in this song is the best pair. The song is about living life after it lime light. There is more to life than what it used to be, and there is so much to be thankful for it. This is what this song is trying to convey. I love this song a lot, I am giving it a 10 out of 10.
Life in the Slow Lane
Unlike the title, the song does not start slow. It has a rock feel to it while staying faithful to their genre. I like the beat of this song. Kept nodding my head while listening to it actually. Doesn’t mean your life may be on a slow lane, you have to suffer and bore yourself. Might as well enjoy this song while you’re at it. 8 out of 10 for this song.
Harlem River Blues
Another playful song from the Swift Creek. It is very up to beat and you can sing along to the song instantly. Words used are quite simply but really in-depth. I like how the bridge was sung with instrument for few seconds. Rating this 9 out of 10.
I actually missed this kind of songs which you hear from the vinyl players. The mix of lyrics and the music suits very well. It is very relaxing to listen to. A 10 out of 10 for me.
Sail Away Ladies
Quite a danceable song. Very country-like music. I like how the instrumental (mix of all instruments used) glided very well. There is no lyrics to the song, which is both good and bad. I guess the title already gives out what the song will be about. To just let loose and sail away J. 9 out of 10 for me.
Rattle them bones
The rattle them bones song is your easy to listen to kind of songs. I hear a second voice of some part of the song which I think is not really needful. Lyrics rhymes so well. I actually can predict some of the words that may come next on my first play of the song. This song gets a 6 out of 10 for me.
