Hi Joey! Thanks for taking the time to chat with us!

Glad to chat anytime!

How do you normally start your day?

I do 3 things first thing when I get up.

  1. Kiss my sweet wife Jennifer.
  2. Coffee
  3. take my first dose of medicine.

As a blind brain tumor survivor, I have to take a lot of medicine that replaces my nonexistent endocrine system, but I am so grateful that I have the medicine to take— and with it, and a lot of hard work, I am able to live the life I have chosen in music!

What makes you smile the most?

Naughty innuendos and bad puns!

What is one city you’ve always dreamed of traveling to?

Cairo, I always wanted to visit the pyramids!

If you could switch lives with one person for a day who would it be?

Neil Degrasse Tyson.

I would love to spend the day absorbed by science!

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you “grew up”?

LOL, I think I went through the normal phase of fireman and astronaut. For most of my younger days, I was really focused on survival as the brain tumor and its aftermath took a lot of work to combat. However, I did always dream I would one day play Doctor Who for the BBC!

If you could do a cameo in any TV series, which show would it be?

Well see above, Doctor Who, second choice Star Trek!

When have you felt genuinely starstruck?

Oh gosh, I don’t know. I have had some amazing opportunities to meet a lot of famous people from Gene Simmons to David Tennent to Alan Parsons and Presidents Carter, Reagan, and Clinton. They are all amazing people, but while honored to meet them, after all, we are all amazing beings and brothers of mankind.

However, I have genuinely been touched and moved by the incredible outpouring of some famous friends and heroes for my “Joey Stuckey Alive Day”

This is the music festival I started back in 2017 to have a day of affirmation and positivity in my hometown of Macon Georgia with a free family-friendly music festival.

The idea of Alive Day was started by my parents when I was a sick child to celebrate the day I beat the odds and survived the brain tumor the doctors thought would probably kill me.

So many amazing folks have reached out to show their love of me and their support of the day it has been humbling, to say the least.

A few folks you might recognize are Alan Parsons, Ron Saint Germain, Iliza Schlesenger, Katy Manning and so many more!

You can find all my Alive Day messages from family, friends, and even a few legends on my YouTube channel.
